Bangladesh U16 girls have unlocked new record becoming the Champion of ‘Group C’ in the AFC U16 Championship qualifiers. The emerging young girls of Bangladesh football have beaten Chinese Taipei by 4-2 in the group match of the competition.
The Chinese Taipei, however, started well taking an early lead at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. But the home side came back strongly netting twice in the first half.
The girls in red and green netted another after the break and Chinese Taipei conceded an own goal which sealed the match in favor of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh U16 girls conceded another before the final whistle but it could not affect the result and the match ended as 4-2 victory for Bangladesh.
The team will face comparatively weaker United Arab Emirates in the final match of group stage on September 5.
A total of six countries along with hosts Bangladesh took part in the 10-day long qualifiers. Bangladesh have already been on top place of Group C as they have won all the 4 matches played so far.
But most importantly BD U16 girls have already reached final round of AFC U16 football championship with a match to spare as they have head-to-head advantage against Chinese Taipei, who are now second in the group table.
Bangladesh scored 22 goals in total and conceded just two in group matches before sealing their places in the final round of AFC U16 Championship.
BD girls beat Iran 3-0, Singapore 5-0 and Kyrgyzstan 10-0 and now Chinese Taipei 4-2 on the process to bring historic results for Bangladesh Football.
