From today, Mohammad Ashraful is allowed to play any kind of domestic matches. But there was confusion about his participation in Bangladesh Cricket League. However, the good news has come and he will be eligible to play this first-class leagu
Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed this news, “We have sent a mail asking ‘player good of conduct’. If we get this, he will be able to play. He can play in domestic leagues as well as BCL. But this depends of selectors. If they want, he will play.”
But Ashraful will not participate in franchise-based T20 leagues. “Ashraful will not be allowed to play BPL or this type of franchise-based T20 leagues. He has to wait for another 2 years.”
The former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful was banned for eight years from International cricket for fixing scandal, then it was reduced to five years. His punishment started from 13 August, 2013 and ended on 12 August, 2016 (for domestic leagues except BPL and International cricket).
Ashraful used to play play for Central Zone in BCL.
