Bangladesh 133-8 (Mithun 45, Mahmudullah 36*) beat UAE 82-10 (Usman 30, Rohan 18) by 51 runs

Bangladesh and UAE has faced each other on the third match of the Asia Cup tournament on Friday. It was a do or die situation for Bangladesh as they wanted to keep the dream of playing in the final alive after their defeat in the first match against India. And as the favorite Bangladesh won the match comprehensively by 70 runs.

Winning the toss UAE elected to field first. And that did pay off, after the first 10 overs it seemed like Bangladesh aiming for 150 or 160 runs but UAE bowlers were able to hold the run acceleration of Bangladesh’s innings. The last 10 overs UAE bowlers held on their nerves, bowled well in the death overs and produced some good deliveries which gave them some valuable wickets. Bangladesh ended on 129 for 9 wickets after 20 overs.

Bangladesh had a decent start, but things started to get spicy in the 5th over, two drop catches, a no ball, a free hit and 17 runs came from that over. In the next over Soumya Sarkar started with a huge six, one ball later he got caught by the captain Amjad Javed. He made 21 runs just from 14 balls, Mithun and He put on a partnership of 46 runs.

50 runs came for Bangladesh in 37 balls. the wicket of Soumya Sarker didn’t really affect the Bangladeshi batting spirit as Mithun took the charge of hitting the ball harder and out of the fence. This man came into the squad as the replacement of Tamim Iqbal, couldn’t do much in the first match, but was proving himself in this one after the drop catch in the fifth over. But he didn’t last for long, he got involved in a silly run out after making 47 runs.

Shabbir Rahman who came after Soumya departed from the crease couldn’t do much either. He only scored 6 runs playing 12 balls. On the other hand the test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim had also a disappointing ending, making only 4 runs from 8 balls he just gave away his wicket, getting caught behind the wicket.
