The operations committee chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Akram Khan has given a very good news to the cricketers on Monday. In the bygone years, every cricketer used to get Tk 40,000 as match fee in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) longer version. But from now on, cricketers will get Taka 50,000 for playing every single match in the upcoming Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL). However, other facilities including day allowance remained the same.
In the mean time, the venues of the first round of BCL have been changed by the BCB in order to give the players an international game’s ambience ahead of the home series against England. As per the reshuffle, the first round games of the BCL will be held in Dhaka and Chittagong in place of Fatullah and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP). However, Fatullah’s Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium and BKSP will host the rest of the round games of the league.
Bangladesh national cricket team’s top cricketers including Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim and their associates will partipate in the first round of the BCL in a bid to take preparation for the forthcoming ODI and Test series against England in October. The first round of BCL will roll onto the ground from September 20.
Though it was earlier heard that all rounds of the franchise-based first class cricket tournament would be played in Fatullah and at the BKSP, the venues for the first round has been shifted to Dhaka and Chittagong as per the Tigers head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe’s demand.
“The coach proposed us to give the first round games of the BCL at Test grounds in Dhaka and Chittagong. We just give our consent in it. But the rest of the league’s matches will be held at Fatullah and BKSP. That will be commenced from second round,” said Akram Khan.
