Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will take a final decision on Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Nov 1, BCB President Nazmul Hassan said Wednesday.
“I’ve heard many criticisms over BPL. New dates were set several times but the dues were not paid. Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu and Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir will brief me on the BPL in the next meeting,” Hassan told reporters after a meeting at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
“The last BPL T20 was arranged hastily. It was difficult to arrange such an international tournament within 45 days. Some issues like that of the contracts were not given importance,” he said.
About the dues, the BCB President said, “The franchises wanted to talk to me. May be I’ll have to give them some time, too. They have sent a letter. It will be discussed on Nov 1. Delaying payment is of course an irregularity. If this is the case, we’ll take firm steps.”
