Mustafizur Rahman cut a sorry figure as Sunrisers Hyderabad were easily beaten by Mumbai Indians by four wickets in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Batting first, the hosts posted 158 for 8 thanks to a 81-run opening stand between Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner. Both the batsmen missed a fifty by one and two runs respectively.
Jasprit Bumrah bagged three wickets while Harbhajan Singh took two to make sure the champions do not make a big total.
In reply, Mumbai successfully chased down the target as they outclassed arguably the tournament’s best bowling attack.
Mustafiz conceded 34 runs in 2.4 overs, including 19 in his first over. Parthiv Patel’s 39 off 24 balls gave Mumbai the early impetus while Krunal Pandya’s 37 off just 20 deliveries steered the team to victory.
The main job was done by Nitish Rana though, he was the highest scorer for the winners with 45 in 36 balls.
