The young sensational pacer and cutter specialist Mustafizur Rahman will not be available for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League, scheduled to begin from February 4th, due to the shoulder injury, BCB has confirmed the issue.
He was ruled out in the last over of the match during the second T20I against Zimbabwe at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna. The BCB held back his NOC following this injury and will keep him under close observation for his quick return to center pitch ahead of the Asia Cup that will be kicking off on February 24th in Bangladesh.
BCB Media Committee Chairman Jalal Yunus said, “We hope Mustafizur would be ready for the Asia Cup T20s as he is still around two weeks away from fully recovering from the sustained shoulder injury. We want him to be absolutely fit for the World T20 in March as well. The BCB do not have any such policy t hold back a player from his participatuon in a domestic T20 competition. Later tonight, Tamim, Shakib and Mushfiq are scheduled to fly off for Dubai to take part in PSL and five of our players are also listed in IPL auction. Depending on they being picked and fit at the same time during the tournament, they will play the IPL and BCB do not have issues with any of these things.”
Jalaj Yunus also added that they would look into compensating Mustafiz’s unavailability for Lahore Qalandars, “We will be deciding on compensating Mustafiz on this, so that he does not sustain a major financial loss of earnings.”
