The young pace sensation from Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman better known as ‘The Fizz’ will be going under the knife on Thursday afternoon. He will be having a surgery on his shoulder.
Going to England to play for Sussex Mustafizur had a great start in his debut picking up four wickets and being the man of the match. But in the second match he wasn’t at his best and practicing in the net he again hurt himself in the shoulder.
After completing his IPL mission he came back to Bangladesh with injury; he had to spend more than four months in rehabilitation center for recovering; but then again he wasn’t recovered fully.
But according to the suggestion from BCB physio Mustafizur now has to go for the surgery but that will throw him out of the cricket for a while; which means he will missing out the England series as well as the New Zealand tour.
Experienced surgeon Dr. Andrew Wallace will be doing Mustafizur’s surgery. Previously in 2006 he was in charge of the surgery of Indian great batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
During the surgery Mustafizur Rahman will be accompanied by BCB doctor Mr. Debasish Chowdhury. He’s in England right now beside Mustafiz to give him the courage, said a BCB official.
Before leaving for England Mr. Debasish spoke to the media. He said, “The surgery will take not more than 40 minutes but the hardest part is the rehabilitation; its much more complicated than the surgery. But if everything goes well it will take him 5-6 months to return in the field again.”
