All the seaports have been instructed to hoist the cautionary signal number 3 due to a seasonal low over the Bay of Bengal.

Issuing a warning on Tuesday, the Met Office said that the low over North Bay and adjoining area intensified into a well-marked low.

The warning also stated that the squally weather might affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas.

The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist the local cautionary signal.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay are advised to remain close to the shore and maintain vigilance.

The Met Office in its weather forecast for Wednesday said, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty wind may occur in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh.

Moreover, moderately heavy rainfalls may occur at several places over the country.

On Tuesday evening, Capital Dhaka was drenched in medium heavy showers accompanied with gusty winds.

The forecast said the weather will not change much in the next 42 hours while rainfall may increase in the next five days.
