The High Court (HC) today asked the authorities concerned why it would not be directed to abolish the system of holding of examination for Junior School Certificate at class VIII in the country’s education.
A bench of Justice Quamrul Islam Siddique and Justice Razik Al Jalil passed the order after conducting a hearing in this regard on Thursday.
The HC order came considering a public interest litigation writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Md Eunus Ali Akond challenging the legality of introduction of Junior School Certificate examination in the country.
It also asked to response from the Education Secretary, Dhaka Board Chairman and Controller of Examinations within four weeks.
Supreme Court lawyer Md Eunus Ali Akond took part on behalf of the petition while Deputy Attorney General Yunus Ali for the state in the hearing on the day.
