The hard hitter opening batsman of Bangladesh cricket team Tamim Iqbal is coming back to Bangladesh from Dubai on Thursday (18th February) after performing outstandingly in Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Before starting his journey for Dhaka, Tamim spoke to the Gulf News of Dubai about PSL.
In this interview, Tamim said that from next year PSL will be held in Pakistan.
In PSL, Tamim played for Peshawar Zalmi. Tamim’s team has already qualified for the next round by grabbing the top position. “IPL has developed the Indian Cricket. BPL also developed Bangladesh Cricket. I hope PSL will also bring something good for Pakistan. It is only the beginning, it will be good slowly. I hope we can play some matches in Pakistan next year”, said Tamim.
Some online media has published Tamim’s speech in a different way. Tamim has said about Pakistan, not Bangladesh. But some media wrote the headline like this- “Bangladesh will play in Bangladesh in next year, said Tamim”. But this news is completely wrong.
In PSL Tamim Iqbal played 6 matches and scored 267 runs. However, he is not gonna play to PSL of this season anymore. Because Tamim is going to Bang Kok to keep in touch with his pregnant wife.
Another information should be noted that Tamim will also miss the Asia Cup. However, he will participate in the T20 World Cup, starting from March.
