Mashrafe becomes UN Goodwill Ambassador

Bangladesh ODI and T20 skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been selected as a United Nations goodwill ambassador, BCB has confirmed the news on Monday.

Earlier, None of the sports personalities of Bangladesh became a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.

Mashrafe will work for the international physically disabled people’s tournament organized by Red Cross.

Earlier on February 15, 2012, the famous movie star Riaz elected as a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations for popularizing the game of hockey in Bangladesh.

The ace all-rounder of Bangladesh cricket team Shakib Al Hasan also worked as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador for the United Nations partner organizations.

Mashrafe bin Mortaza will be the first Bangladeshi player to work with the United Nations directly.
