Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have arrested an alleged smuggler possessing 16kg gold from Taluigachha border point in Sathkhira Sadar upazila on Friday noon.
The arrestee was identified as Aliuzzaman, son of Shafiqul Islam of Keragachhi border area in Kolaroa upazila.
Public Relations officer Shamsul Alam of BGB-38 battalion said on secret information, the BGB members challenged motorcyclist Aliuzzaman in the area around 12 pm and arrested him.
They recovered gold bars worth Tk 6.34 crore from under the seat of the motorcycle.
