Umar Gul who was left out from the test squad against England for form and fitness issue surprisingly made it to the ODI squad leaving behind Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan. Now the 32-years old veteran is all set to fulfill senior bowlers responsibilities.

Talking to a local media outlet, Gul stated he is all set lead the attack as a senior bowler in a tough series. He further stated the series will be a tough ask for them but he is confident enough to put a great show in the field.

“It’s a tough series because England are a very strong team. But I’m confident and looking forward to leading the attack from the front as the team’s senior bowler,”  said Gul.

Gul came back to international cricket after 15-months break; but he is full of confidence and made a great impact on his return to International cricket against Ireland.

“I was coming back after more than a 15-month break and as a senior bowler, there were a lot of expectations. But I was also confident and it helped as I bowled with good rhythm and played my part in the team’s win.”

He stated his performance against Ireland has added more confidence and he is looking forward to deliver his very best against England; he believes Pakistan team’s morale is also high after such a victory.

“My performance against Ireland has added to my confidence and I am looking forward to giving my best against England. The team’s morale is also high after winning with such a huge margin against Ireland. If we play with the same zeal, I’m sure that we can achieve good results against England,” he said.
